Computer House Is Open — Here's Why We Built It

After months of planning, building and testing, Computer House is officially open.

But before you browse the store, we want to tell you why we built it — because this isn't just another electronics shop, and you deserve to know the difference.

It Started With a Phone Call

I work in technical support for Sky. Every day I speak with customers across the UK who are frustrated by the same problem — their premium equipment isn't working properly with their new TV box.

A Bang & Olufsen television that won't output sound through a Sky Q box. A classic Linn amplifier that can't receive audio from a Sky Stream Puck. A vintage Naim system that cost thousands and is now sitting silent because nobody told the customer which adapter they needed.

The answer from every retailer is always the same: replace your TV. Replace your speakers. Buy new kit.

That never sat right with me.

The Problem Nobody Was Solving

Modern streaming boxes — Sky Q, Sky Stream, BT TV, Virgin Media, EE TV — are built around HDMI. But a huge number of people own classic AV equipment that predates HDMI, or uses it differently. Bang & Olufsen, Linn, Naim, Bose, Harman Kardon — these are brands people invest in for life. Equipment that still sounds and looks incredible decades after purchase.

The gap between modern streaming and classic AV equipment is real. But it's also fixable — with the right adapter, converter or cable.

That's exactly what Computer House is here for.

What We Sell

We specialise in the connectivity products that bridge the gap between old and new:

  • HDMI cables and adapters — high-speed, reliable, compatible with Sky Q, Apple TV, Roku, Fire Stick and more
  • Audio converters and extractors — connect your modern TV box to a classic hi-fi or surround sound system
  • Ethernet and networking accessories — get the most out of your broadband and streaming setup
  • AV adapters and converters — SCART, component, optical, RCA and more

Every product in our store has been selected because it solves a real problem. Not because an algorithm suggested it.

Who We Are

My name is Stoyan — people call me Yan. I'm based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and I've spent years working across telecommunications, technical support and product management. I know what happens when technology doesn't talk to itself properly, and I know how to fix it.

Computer House serves customers across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. If you're not sure which product you need, send us a message. We actually answer — because this is our store, not a call centre.

What's Coming

We're just getting started. Over the coming weeks we'll be adding:

  • Audio converters and HDMI extractors specifically for vintage hi-fi systems
  • Compatibility guides for Sky Q, BT TV and Virgin Media setups
  • Video tutorials on connecting classic equipment to modern streaming boxes
  • A blog covering everything from cable types to AV troubleshooting

Come Say Hello

If you've ever been told to throw away equipment you love just because a new box arrived — this store is for you.

Browse the store, follow us on social media, or drop us a message if you have a question. We're glad you found us.

— Yan, Founder of Computer House
